Dixie Bell Chalk Mineral Paint
I have never heard of this brand until I found it on a pick with my friend Lisa from Junk Warehouse Market. She took me to one of her favorite shops in
Dixie Bell states, "No sanding, priming or sealing needed and that it will be the easiest and most enjoyable painting you will ever do!" It was recommended to use a chip brush with Dixie Bell owner, Suzanne, because it does not hold much paint and you really do want to be stingy with the amount you use as more is not better here.
* COST:
*DISTRESSING: SUPER easy to distress! Be careful to sand with little pressure if you do not want too take to much paint off.
* SCENT : There is a light chemical smell but not horrible. Ok for indoor use.
* CONSISTENCY : This paint is pretty thick and a little goes a long way; so just start with a small amount of paint on your brush and adjust accordingly. You can also add some water to it if you want to thin it out.
*COVERAGE : The coverage is pretty good and the second coat really fills the gaps.
DRY TIME: It dries super fast! Try not to run your brush over the same spot too much as you can fix whatever when it dries.
ADHESION:
*CLEAN UP:
OVERALL IMPRESSION : I definitely like this paint however, only for small projects and dry brushing. It dries really fast and I am not a big fan of clay based paint--mostly because it dries my hands out so much.
